The battery of an New Cars inputs power to the controller. The power transistors in the controller are connected to the motor. After the power is input to the controller, the DC voltage is converted into AC voltage by the power transistors before being output to the motor.

New Cars motors also come in many types. Based on their external structure, they are divided into column-type and hub-type motors.

Column-type motors are further divided into brushed and brushless types. Brushless DC column-type motors have a fixed casing; the armature of a brushed motor is the rotor, while the rotor of a brushless motor is made of magnets.

Hub-type motors resemble a motorcycle brake drum, only slightly larger. Because of their hub-like shape, they are called hub-type motors.
