The new XPeng X9 Super Extended Range Edition boasts the title of "world's longest seven-seater with the longest range"—452 km on pure electric power and 1602 km on a full tank of gas and a fully charged battery. A single tank of gas can take you from Beijing to Nanjing without needing to refuel, extending the journey by a day compared to ordinary new energy vehicles that need to find a service station after only 500 kilometers. Despite its 5.3-meter length and 3.16-meter wheelbase, it features rear-wheel steering, resulting in a U-turn diameter of only 11 meters, allowing for easy cornering even in two-lane urban areas, unlike larger Commercial Vehicles that require a reverse maneuver. The second row features two independent seats with leg rests that can be reclined with a single touch, making it much easier to put children to sleep on long journeys than older Used Cars with folded-down rear seats and blankets.
The cabin features a 0.223㎡ panoramic sunroof with sunshades, blocking 90% of sunlight in summer and allowing rear passengers to enjoy the sun in winter. The refrigerator is adjustable from 0-50℃, keeping milk warm but not freezing popsicles—a thoughtful touch for family use in an MPV. The range extender's noise level is below 0.5 dB, making normal conversation in the car indistinguishable. Even at 120 km/h on the highway, the voice assistant can still recognize a child in the back seat saying "I want to listen to nursery rhymes," a much quieter experience than traditional range extenders where the engine roars and interrupts conversations.
With 5C supercharging and an 800V platform, the battery can be charged from 10% to 70% in 12 minutes. At S5 supercharging stations, the peak power reaches 450 kW. The time it takes to buy a latte at a service area is enough to travel another 300 kilometers, making it much more convenient than searching for charging stations on a used pure electric vehicle. The vehicle's energy consumption is 17-18 kWh/100 km, which is normal for a 2.7-ton seven-seater. Driving 30,000 kilometers a year, the electricity and fuel costs will be around 4,000 yuan, while a similarly sized gasoline MPV would cost nearly 20,000 yuan. The price difference between this and a Used Car can be recovered in three years.
The vehicle comes with a four-year/100,000-kilometer warranty, and the range extender and three-electric system have a lifetime warranty. Existing owners who repurchase receive an additional six years of free electricity (1500 kWh per year), meaning they essentially don't need to spend money on charging for the first six years. As a result, its resale value is more stable than that of comparable used cars. It doesn't haul cargo to freight yards or compete on 0-100 km/h acceleration; it's a family MPV that excels in space, range, quietness, and economy. Whether for city commuting, weekend long trips, or occasional business receptions, one kilowatt-hour of electricity is enough to comfortably carry seven people.
