The Polo is a
New Car and a mainstay in Volkswagen's small car lineup. The 2025 model measures 4053×1751×1461 mm, with a wheelbase of 2564 mm and a drag coefficient of 0.31. The front features a single-bar grille integrated with LED daytime running lights, while the rear boasts a small ducktail spoiler and smoked taillights, giving it a more dynamic look than a used Honda Fit and a half-meter shorter length than the commercially available Volkswagen Touran L, making it easy to maneuver in urban areas.
The interior features a two-tone black/gray-beige color scheme, an 8-inch LCD instrument cluster, and a 9.2-inch touchscreen with wireless CarPlay support. The seats are upholstered in fabric and faux leather, with 6-way power adjustment for the front seats and adjustable rear backrests that fold down in a 40/60 split. The floor hump is moderate, ensuring ample legroom for three passengers. The trunk has a standard capacity of 351 L, expanding to 1.6 m with the seats folded down, allowing for the horizontal placement of carry-on luggage. The space is more organized than other new energy SUVs in the same price range, and the battery does not encroach on the floor.
The entire range is powered by a 1.5L EVO engine, producing 81 kW/141 N·m, paired with either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. It boasts a combined fuel consumption of 5.5 L/100 km and requires only 92-octane gasoline. The chassis features a MacPherson strut front suspension and a torsion beam rear suspension, with comfort-oriented springs that effectively filter bumps. The steering is on the heavier side, providing stability at high speeds up to 120 km/h. IQ.Drive driver assistance is standard across the range, including adaptive cruise control (ACC), lane keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking, making city driving and highway cruising worry-free.
Compared to older
Used Car models, the new car adds a digital instrument cluster and connected car features; compared to
new energy vehicles, it eliminates the hassle of charging stations; and compared to commercial MPVs, it maintains the low center of gravity and compact size of a sedan, making it suitable for family use, commuting, and long-distance travel.
