The Teramont PRO is a
New Car and SAIC Volkswagen's flagship mid-to-large-sized seven-seater SUV. It measures 5158×1991×1788 mm, with a wheelbase of 2980 mm, 106 mm longer than the previous model, and boasts a drag coefficient of 0.32. The front is nearly closed, with a continuous light strip connecting the illuminated logo. The rear features an illuminated Volkswagen lettering. Overall, it's simpler than the used Teramont and half a meter shorter than the
commercial vehicle Multivan, making it easier to enter and exit underground parking garages.
The interior offers a black/grey or black/brown two-tone design. It features a 15-inch 2K floating central touchscreen, an 11.6-inch passenger entertainment screen, and a 10.3-inch LCD instrument cluster, along with a head-up display and AR real-view navigation. The seats are made of Vienna leather, with 14-way power-adjustable front seats with lumbar support, adjustable rear backrests that can slide forward and backward, and a power-folding third row. The trunk has a standard capacity of 286 L, expanding to 2427 L with the second and third rows folded down, and a depth of 2.3 m, large enough to accommodate a surfboard. The space is more organized than most new energy SUVs with seven-seater electric engines, and the battery doesn't encroach on the floor.
The entire range is powered by the fifth-generation EA888 2.0T engine, producing 200 kW/400 N·m of torque in high-power mode and 157 kW in low-power mode, paired with a DQ501 seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive. It achieves a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.6 seconds and a combined fuel consumption of 8.35 L/100 km, requiring only 92-octane gasoline. The chassis features a MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-arm rear suspension, with optional DCC adaptive suspension offering two levels of adjustment for comfort and support. The steering feel is on the heavier side, providing stability at high speeds up to 120 km/h. The IQ.Pilot intelligent driving system uses DJI's dual-lens camera solution, supporting L2+ level adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, intelligent lane changing with lever, automatic parking, and memory parking, saving driving effort on long journeys.
Compared to older
Used Cars, the new vehicle features a passenger-side entertainment screen and intelligent driving capabilities; compared to
new energy vehicles, it eliminates the hassle of charging stations; compared to commercial MPVs, it retains full-time four-wheel drive and a 3-ton trailer qualification, making it suitable for urban commuting, long-distance highway travel, and light off-roading.
