The fourth-generation Geely Emgrand is a "national family sedan" labeled as a
New Car, and also Geely's annual facelift that brought the price down to the 50,000 yuan range. Its compact dimensions of 4638×1820×1460 mm and 2650 mm wheelbase, combined with a waterfall grille and continuous taillights, make it look more spirited than a used Jetta and more agile than a boxy commercial minivan, allowing for easy maneuvering through streets and alleys.
Interior features a dual-screen setup consisting of a 12.3-inch floating screen and a 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster. The Galaxy OS supports voice control, a 540° transparent chassis view, and OTA upgrades, allowing for one-word control of navigation, sunroof, and air conditioning. The seats are wrapped in faux leather, with 6-way power adjustment and heating in the front seats, and adjustable rear backrests that can be folded down in a 4/6 split. The trunk has a standard capacity of 680 L, expanding to a depth of 1.9 m when folded down, allowing skis and carry-on suitcases to be laid flat. The space is more organized than other new energy SUVs in the same price range, and the battery does not encroach on the floor. The 1.5L direct-injection engine delivers 93 kW/152 N·m, paired with a 5-speed manual or a CVT that simulates 8 gears. WLTC fuel consumption is 5.62-5.82 L/100 km, requiring only 92-octane gasoline. The chassis features a MacPherson strut front and torsion beam rear suspension, tuned for a firm ride. It recovers quickly after a single bounce over speed bumps, maintaining stability at 120 km/h. The cabin is so quiet that the passenger might mistake it for an electric vehicle. Level 2 driver assistance (full-speed adaptive cruise control + lane centering + automatic emergency braking) makes long-distance driving more worry-free than driving a used naturally aspirated car, without the need to constantly search for charging stations like in an electric vehicle.
Official minor maintenance costs just over 300 yuan, with annual maintenance costs around 10,000 yuan, about half that of similarly priced
new energy vehicles. Compared to commercial MPVs, it has a shorter body and is easier to park; compared to older
Used Cars, the new car has a transparent chassis and vehicle connectivity; compared to other hybrid vehicles in the same class, it offers a 680L trunk and Level 2 driving assistance at a price of around 50,000 yuan, making it suitable for city commuting and weekend trips to the suburbs, turning "saving money, worry-free, and saving time" into a kind of understated luxury.
