Tank 300 HI4-T Electric Off-Road Box

The Tank 300 HI4-T is a rugged plug-in hybrid SUV bearing the "New Car" badge, representing Great Wall Motors' new approach to combining a boxy design with a green license plate in the 250,000 RMB price range. Measuring 4785×1934×1905mm with a 2750mm wheelbase, it's half a meter shorter than the Ford Transit commercial vehicle, making U-turns in underground parking garages effortless. The externally mounted spare tire and side-opening tailgate retain its rugged character, giving it a more spirited look than a used Pajero.

 

The interior maintains a clean, linear mechanical layout. A 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch floating screen with Coffee OS allow for voice control of the air conditioning and transparent chassis, making operation more convenient than comparable electric vehicles. The 2.0T engine combined with the electric motor delivers a 300kW power output, achieving 0-100km/h in 6.8 seconds, a WLTC pure electric range of 105km, and a fuel consumption of 8.9L/100km when the battery is depleted, requiring only 92-octane gasoline. Three differential locks and an 800mm wading depth make single-wheel extrication from sandy terrain much easier. During high-speed cruising, the electric motor disconnects, maintaining fuel consumption comparable to the previous gasoline version.

 

Compared to commercial MPVs, its shorter body makes parking easier; compared to pure electric new energy vehicles, it eliminates the hassle of charging stations; compared to older four-wheel-drive Used Cars, the new model adds a passenger-side entertainment screen and rear seat heating, making it suitable for city commuting, weekend camping, and high-altitude expeditions—a truly practical and understated choice despite its "plug-in box" design.
