The Leapmotor T03 is a pure electric microcar labeled "
New Car," and it's Leapmotor's latest masterpiece in making "commuting" a cost-effective champion in the 50,000 RMB price range. Its compact size of 3620×1652×1605mm, coupled with a 2400mm wheelbase and a drag coefficient of 0.29, makes it more stylish than the used Benben (a popular Chinese car brand) and more refined than the boxy commercial microvan. It can easily maneuver through streets and alleys with a simple U-turn.
The interior features a 5-door, 4-seat configuration that seamlessly blends practicality and technology: an 8-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch central control screen form a dual-screen setup. Fast charging, smartphone connectivity, and a reversing camera are standard across the range. Voice control allows for navigation and air conditioning. The rear doors have a 670mm opening width, allowing adults to enter and exit without folding down the front seats. The trunk has a standard capacity of 210L, expanding to 508L with the front seats folded down. Skis and carry-on suitcases can be laid flat, offering a more organized space than other new energy SUVs in the same price range, with the battery not encroaching on the floor.
Powertrain options include two rear-mounted motors: 55kW and 80kW. The 80kW version accelerates from 0-50km/h in 4.1 seconds, with a CLTC range of 310/403km. A 41.3kWh lithium iron phosphate battery can be fast-charged from 30% to 80% in just 0.6 hours, consuming 11kWh per 100km. A full charge via a standard 220V household charger takes only one night. A low-temperature heating system provides added peace of mind for users in northern regions compared to pure electric
new energy vehicles.
The annual electricity cost of the entire vehicle is less than 1,000 yuan, half that of a used gasoline car. Compared to commercial MPVs, it has a shorter body and is easier to park; compared to older used models, the new car has dual airbags and a vehicle stability system; compared to other pure electric vehicles in the same class, it offers a 403km range, four doors, and fast charging at a price of around 50,000 yuan, making it suitable for city commuting, grocery shopping, and picking up children. It transforms the "people's car" into a form of understated luxury.
