The Tiggo 3x is a
New Car, and Chery's sincere attempt to bring the "small SUV" to the 50,000 RMB market. The 2025 model measures 4200×1760×1570 mm, with a wheelbase of 2555 mm and a drag coefficient of 0.34. The front features a large grille connected to sharp headlights, while the rear boasts a continuous taillight design and two-tone surround. It's taller than the used Reina and more refined than a commercial microvan, making it easy to maneuver in alleyways.
The interior features a black and gray two-tone design, a 9-inch embedded central touchscreen, and a 3.5-inch LCD instrument cluster, supporting reversing camera and smartphone mirroring. The seats are a combination of faux leather and fabric, with 4-way manual transmission in the front and adjustable rear seatbacks that fold down in a 4/6 split. The floor has a slight hump in the middle, comfortably seating four people. The trunk has a standard capacity of 420 L, expanding to a depth of 1.6 m when the seats are folded down, allowing for the horizontal placement of carry-on luggage. The space is more organized than other new energy SUVs and pure electric microcars in the same price range, and the battery doesn't encroach on the floor.
The entire range is powered by a 1.5L cast iron engine, producing 85 kW/143 N·m, paired with a 5-speed manual or a CVT that simulates 9 gears. WLTC fuel consumption is 7.34 L/100 km, requiring only 92-octane gasoline. The chassis features a MacPherson strut front suspension and a torsion beam rear suspension, with comfort-oriented springs that effectively filter out minor bumps. The steering feel is on the heavier side, providing stability at high speeds up to 120 km/h. Higher-spec models include TPMS tire pressure monitoring and a reversing camera, but the entry-level model lacks ESP, requiring some extra power for city driving.
Compared to older
Used Cars, the new model offers a larger screen and a reversing camera; compared to
new energy vehicles, it eliminates the hassle of charging stations; compared to commercial MPVs, it maintains the low center of gravity and compact size of a sedan, making it suitable for family use, commuting, and long-distance travel, and a practical choice for the first SUV for working professionals.
