The second-generation Haval Xiaolong MAX is a
New Car and Haval's main SUV for bringing "four-wheel drive hybrid" to the 110,000 RMB market segment. The 2025 model measures 4780×1895×1725 mm, with a wheelbase of 2810 mm and a drag coefficient of 0.34. The front features a continuous LED light strip combined with a "peregrine falcon wing" kit, while the rear boasts 332 LED "starry sky" taillights. Shorter than a used H6 (
Used Car), yet taller than a Volkswagen Touran L (
commercial vehicle), it makes U-turns in underground parking garages effortless.
The interior offers black, brown, and white color options. It features a 14.6-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster, with the Coffee OS 3 infotainment system equipped with an 8155 chip and supporting four-zone voice control. The seats have Nappa perforated leather, with heated/ventilated/massaging front seats. The rear seatbacks are adjustable and can be folded down in a 4/6 split, creating a nearly flat floor, ensuring comfort for five people on long journeys. The trunk has a standard capacity of 540 L, expanding to a depth of 2 m when folded down, large enough to accommodate skis laid horizontally. The space is more organized than comparable new energy SUVs in the pure electric segment, and the battery doesn't encroach on the floor.
The entire range comes standard with the second-generation Hi4 plug-in hybrid: a 1.5L direct-injection engine with 85 kW + front and rear dual motors, delivering a combined system output of 238 kW/595 N·m, achieving 0-100 km/h in under 6 seconds, and a WLTC fuel consumption of 4.2 L/100 km when the battery is depleted. Pure electric options include 110 km and 165 km CLTC ranges, with fast charging from 30% to 80% taking ≤19 minutes, requiring only 92-octane gasoline. The intelligent four-wheel drive automatically disconnects the rear axle above 63 km/h, reducing high-speed energy consumption by 0.4-0.7 L/100km, offering greater mechanical reliability than pure electric
new energy vehicles and better fuel economy than traditional two-wheel drive hybrids.
Compared to older
Used Cars, the new model features a passenger-side entertainment screen and a highway NOA (Noise, Arrival, and Assist) system; compared to commercial MPVs, it retains four-wheel drive and a compact size; compared to two-wheel drive hybrids in the same class, it offers "four-wheel drive experience at a two-wheel drive price," making it suitable for city commuting, weekend getaways, and long-distance road trips.
