The Mazda EZ6 is a New Car and the brand's first new energy vehicle in China. It measures 4860 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2890 mm. Featuring a hatchback design, the front retains the shield-shaped grille but with a closed panel, and the LED headlights are narrower. The side profile is similar to the previous Atenza, with a drag coefficient of 0.23. The rear features a continuous light strip and lettering, giving it a clean look. The interior is predominantly dark gray, with a 14.6-inch floating central touchscreen, a 10.2-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, and a small-diameter three-spoke steering wheel. The seats are upholstered in leather and fabric, and the rear seatbacks are two-position adjustable. The floor is slightly raised. While the interior space is shorter than the commercial vehicle, the Trumpchi M6, it's sufficient for family use.
Powertrain options include pure electric and range-extended: the pure electric rear-wheel drive version has a 190 kW motor and a CLTC range of 600 km; the range-extended version has a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine that only generates electricity (160 kW motor), offering a pure electric range of 200 km and a combined range of 1300 km, with a combined fuel consumption of 0.8 L/100 km. The chassis features a MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension with a flat battery pack, resulting in a lower center of gravity than the Used Car version of the Mazda 6, minimizing body roll during cornering. Steering requires 2.6 turns, and braking and accelerator response are linear. Standard features include L2 driver assistance, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and automatic parking, making daily driving effortless.
The trunk opening is low, with a standard 450L capacity, expanding to 1.9m depth when folded down, enough to fit two road bikes. A 3.3kW external power outlet is available, allowing for powering a rice cooker for camping. Rear air conditioning can be independently turned off, and the almost flat floor makes it easy for children to enter and exit. Compared to commercial MPVs, it's more flexible; compared to used gasoline cars, it eliminates engine vibration; and compared to pure electric SUVs, it retains the driving feel of a hatchback. It's suitable for city commuting and weekend getaways.
