The Haval Dargo 2026 is a
New Car with a "light off-road" label, and it's also Great Wall Motors' most cost-effective example of seamlessly blending ruggedness with urban practicality. The front retains its retro feel with a rounded rectangular grille and round LED headlights, but the grille itself has been replaced with piano black three-dimensional blocks, and the logo has been reduced to the letters "HAVAL." Paired with 19-inch gray-silver wheels and side rivet decorations, it resembles a miniature Defender from a distance. Half a meter shorter than the Ford Transit
commercial vehicle, it can easily make a U-turn in underground parking garages.
The interior maintains the playful "animal naming" theme. The 12.3-inch floating screen features Coffee OS 2.0, supporting four-zone voice control and a transparent chassis view. The seats have Nappa perforated leather, with heated/ventilated/massaging front seats. The rear seatbacks are adjustable and can be folded down in a 4/6 split, creating a completely flat floor, allowing five people to comfortably travel long distances. The trunk has a well-organized, regular-sized space, and the low cargo platform design makes loading and unloading easier. Unlike other new energy SUVs in the same price range, the battery doesn't encroach on the floor, allowing you to easily carry camping gear and moving supplies.
Two engine options are available: a 1.5T (135kW/275N·m) paired with a 7-speed DCT, achieving a combined fuel consumption of 7.2L/100km; and a 2.0T (175kW/385N·m) paired with a 9-speed DCT, achieving 0-100km/h acceleration in under 7 seconds, requiring only 92-octane gasoline. The chassis features a MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension, along with a rear differential lock and six terrain modes. Even in sandy conditions, it can still concentrate torque on a single wheel, offering greater mechanical reliability than pure electric
new energy vehicles and more confidence on rough roads than urban SUVs.
Compared to used urban SUVs, the new car offers features like a transparent chassis and seat massage; compared to commercial MPVs, it retains its compact size and differential lock; compared to hybrids in its class, it offers a rare combination of 2.0T + 9AT + rear differential lock in the 100,000 RMB price range, making it suitable for city commuting, weekend camping, and high-altitude expeditions, turning "light off-roading" into an understated yet distinctive experience.
